Everyone should have flexible ice packs available for quick injury treatments but at $10-$15 a pop, making a homemade ice pack is a much better. That's why I decide to pack an ice pack. So i decided to make a gel ice pack. I decided to do this one because it seemed like it was going to be fun doing a ice pack made out of gel.
So then I started to make my ice pack. The materials I needed to make this ice pack: 1 cup of Rubbing Alcohol
1 cup of water, 1 drop of blue food coloring (optional), 2 Quart Sized Ziploc Bags. Fill the plastic freezer bag with one cup of rubbing alcohol and 2 cups of water. For a less dense gel, reduce the amount of water to 1 cup. Try to get as much air out of the freezer bag before sealing it shut. Place the bag and its contents inside a second freezer bag to contain any leakage. Leave the bag in the freezer for at least an hour. When it's ready, place a towel between the gel pack and bare skin to avoid burning the skin. Those were the steps i did to make my ice pack.
My experience doing this ice pack was great. I learned how to make an ice pack. It is useful to learn how to make an ice pack. An ice pack could help you if you have a swollen ankle or a bruise or if you get hurt doing something. And now I don't have to buy an ice pack at a store because I know how to do one myself.
